Gunung Gajah as a new take off site for aerosport activities needs to be tested for the readiness of the place and any aspects of it. Moreover, this place is also prepared as one of the venues for the 6th Telomoyo Cup 2022, which this year is holding a paragliding competition for the first time.
The first trial was a paragliding festival event held on March 20, 2022. There were 53 pilots wearing various costumes to celebrate the 501st Anniversary of Semarang Regency. Participants wore various costumes, ranging from traditional dancers, soldiers, hazmat clothes, to Javanese clothes complete with ‘beskap’ and ‘blangkon’. One is wearing a Hanoman costume, a super monkey famous character in Javanese culture story.
In this event, the landing zone is in the Muncul field, Rowoboni Village, Banyubiru District, Semarang Regency.
